The Opuntia microdasys, also known as the rabbit ear cactus, loves a bright location with plenty of direct sunlight. It thrives best in a sunny spot, such as a windowsill, where it receives several hours of direct sunlight every day.

💧 Giessen:
approximately every 3-4 weeks (finger test: see blog post - tips and tricks): This cactus is adapted to dry conditions and prefers the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Avoid waterlogging at all costs, as this can lead to root rot. In winter, when the plant is dormant, watering should be reduced to a minimum - approximately every 4 to 7 weeks.

Important NOTE:
Opuntia microdasys is not poisonous to humans or pets. However, its small glochids (tiny, hair-like spines) are very fine and can easily penetrate the skin, causing irritation. Therefore, care should be taken when handling the plant and it is recommended to wear gloves.
