First Aid for your Amigos

If your friend is not feeling well...

First aid for mold and pests:

1. Surgical procedure
Remove as much infested substrate (soil) and leaves as possible, this will slow the spread of the pests. The infested material can either be cut away or you can remove the pests with a cloth or with your nail. It is important to always disinfect your hands well after touching the uninvited guests.

2. Showers

Put your Amigo in the bathtub or in a sink where you can carefully shower him with lukewarm water. This also has a preventative effect. With this measure you can wash away a lot of vermin.

3. Quarantine
Depending on the houseplant and the weather conditions (only in summer), you can put your pest-infested Amigo outside. Make sure that the temperature outside is high enough and that the plant is not in direct sunlight. This way you can also combat spider mites.

Please follow the quarantine instructions of the BAG :)

3. The chemical club
If nothing helps, you can use chemicals to combat the pests in an emergency. You will need to repeat the treatment several times. Pay close attention to the instructions for the product. After the plant has been successfully treated, you can rinse it with water.

4. Cleaning
Clean the planter properly. Take the plant out of the pot and remove as much old soil as possible. You can replace the old soil with new soil. Check the roots for health.

Houseplants with hard leaves are less susceptible to pests because they cannot cling to the leaves so easily. It is also easier to remove pests with a strong jet of water. You can use the plant sprayer on the Sansevieria or Chamaerops Humilis as a preventative measure.

… you can combine our plants with the right colors to create the best atmosphere?
